Overview

The Kinto Travel tumbler is elegantly designed and highly efficient equipment that comes in multiple matte colors. It is great for keeping liquids at the desired temperature for hours.

It is lightweight and portable, so you can use it wherever you are.

What makes this tumbler so great? What features does it have that make it better than the other tumblers? Read on and find out.

Key Features

  • Sturdy and durable stainless steel construction
  • Leakproof screw-on lid
  • Double-vacuum insulation
  • Dual lid design
  • Powder-coated no sweat grip
  • Various color options.

What I Like

Many factors make me like my Kinto Travel tumbler, but here are some that stick out to me the most.

Design

The tumbler comes in a sleek and elegant design that makes it look like a tube.

Its slender design means it can fit in most cup holders, so you can drive easily without looking for somewhere to place your cup.

It comes in various matte colors, so you can choose one that suits you best.

The cup holds up to 350ml of drinks, but it also comes in various sizes.

It also features a unique two-stage lid that makes drinking easier and secures the tumbler tightly to prevent spillages.

Insulation

Despite its sleek look, the Kinto is fully capable of holding drinks for hours at a time without losing their desired temperature.

I found my Kinto can hold ice for more than 12 hours without melting, provided I don’t open it too much.

Its temperature retention is because of the double-walled vacuum insulation that traps all the heat, or cold, preventing it from getting outside.

The insulation prevents outside factors from affecting the liquid, as long as it’s not opened all the time.

Dual-lid Design

The Kinto features the double lid technology that I have not seen in any of the tumblers I use.

The tumbler has two plastic pieces that you can screw together. You can use just one part of the lid for drinking or unscrew them both to refill your flask.

The upper lid is a smaller opening that you can use to drink your coffee without spilling.

It also contains a rubber seal that prevents leakages so you won’t accidentally pour some on yourself.

The lower lid is wider and more useful when refilling the tumbler.

I find the large diameter of the opening because it makes it easy to brew my coffee straight into the tumbler, and I can also smell the brew when drinking using the wider opening.

A plastic piece between the two openings regulates the stream of water, pouring steadily even when tipped beyond the liquid level.

The piece also helps keep back the ice when drinking cold beverages, something that I didn’t even think was necessary.

Kinto Travel Tumbler Durability

Durability

The tumbler’s construction is another factor that deserves a lot of praise.

I am not a particularly well-coordinated person, and I have dropped my tumbler more than once.

Despite all these bumps and knocks, my tumbler still looks as good as new without any signs of wear.

It is Watertight

The tumbler contains three silicone gaskets; one for the lower lid and two for the upper one.

The gasket makes the lid hard to open, stopping beverages from spilling all over your things.

When commuting, you can carry your tumbler in your bag and even hit it on a few things without anything spilling through.

The lid has a seal that makes it even more leakproof. I cannot count the number of times I have thrown my tumbler into my bag, and not even once has it ever spilled.

Easy to Clean

The screw-on lid is easy to remove when it’s time to clean the tumbler.

The large diameter at the opening also allows for easy cleaning, giving you more room to clean the inside of the cup thoroughly.

You will need to use a scrubbing brush because of the slender design, but its ease of cleaning is not something that most flasks have, making it a bonus for the Kinto.

What I Didn’t Like

Kinto Travel Tumbler weight

Weight

The Kinto Travel Tumbler is a little hefty, making it hard to hold in your hands while walking.

I deal with that problem by throwing it into my bag so it doesn’t weigh me down.

Condensation

The plastic section along the flask can sometimes encourage condensation, especially on humid days.

This condensation can get into your electronics or papers and wet them.

Be careful where you put it to prevent it from ruining your appliances or documents.

Odors

The multiple gaskets on the lid can trap odors from your drinks, affecting your next drink.

You want to make sure you thoroughly wash the flask before refilling it with a different drink.

Conclusion

I am not a morning person, and I dread my morning commute every day. That was until I discovered tumblers.

This creation has made my commute that much better, with a steaming hot cup of coffee. What’s even better is that I can use my tumbler any day of the year without a problem.

There is so much to say about the Kinto Travel tumbler. It is chock-full of features that make it both attractive and functional.

It keeps drinks at the desired temperature for hours, is highly durable, and has a minimalistic design that makes it more functional.

It is an excellent option for someone who wants to drink at a specific temperature.

I love my tumbler because of its functionality, and if you are keen on cleaning and maintenance, I am sure you will love your Kinto Travel tumbler too.
