With so many tumblers out there, it can be hard to choose the best one. I found that some of these options are pricier than others and don’t really have any great features.
However, two brands offer an excellent reputation for quality and affordability. I am talking about RTIC and Orca.
In this guide, I will compare RTIC vs Orca Tumbler cups so that you can find the perfect option for your needs.

RTIC has been in the industry since 2014, and they offer an excellent selection of tumblers at affordable prices.
I own the RTIC 30-ounce tumbler, and I love it since it keeps my drinks cold for hours on end.
The best thing about this brand is that you get all the features like color options, durability, ice life, etc., without paying an arm and a leg for it.
RTIC uses 18/8 strong stainless steel to construct its travel mugs, so you can be sure that they will last a long time.
Their tumblers have double-wall vacuum insulation that gives you maximum temperature retention.
It can keep your cold drinks colder for longer and hot drinks hotter for a shorter amount of time.
RTIC Tumblers Key Features:
- Double-wall vacuum insulation for longer ice life
- Stainless steel construction for extended durability
- The base area is easy to grip
- No-sweat exterior
- Comes in different colors, designs, and capacity
- Rust-proof
- BPA-free
Why Choose RTIC Tumblers?
RTIC tumblers provide you with everything you need in a quality tumbler, and they offer excellent customer service as well.
The best part is that the prices are very affordable, especially when compared to other brands like Yeti or Ozark Trail (both of which cost more).
The material used is durable and highly functional. The tumblers are easy to clean and do not rust because the stainless steel construction is resistant to corrosion.
They can handle outdoor conditions without any problems, so you can use them for camping or other activities like traveling. (The 30-ounce option fits perfectly in car cup holders).
With their double-wall vacuum insulation, RTIC tumblers can hold your ice for up to a day, so you can enjoy a cold drink for longer.
Downsides:
- The tumbler is not machine-washable, so you have to hand wash it.
Orca Tumblers Cups
- Tritan Copolyester BPA-free clear lid lets you see when its time to refill your beverage
- Tough polymer handle grip
- Double-Walled, vacuum sealed

Orca has a lot of experience in the industry, having been in the industry for many years now.
Orca offers a wide range of products, including many different types of tumblers and coolers.
Orca uses stainless steel to construct its travel mugs to ensure that they are durable and long-lasting (it is double-walled as well).
The lid comes with an insulated seal that locks cold air inside to keep your drink cold.
Their tumblers have a no-sweat design, and they come covered in Duracoat, making them rust-proof as well.
Orca’s tumblers are BPA-free, rust-proof, and resistant to scratches. They are machine-washable, so you can clean them easily.
Orca Tumblers Key Features:
- Double-wall vacuum insulation for longer ice life and cold drinks that stay colder for longer periods
- 18/8 stainless steel
- Magnetic Yeti MagSlider for easy opening and closing
- They come covered in Duracoat so the color won’t fade or get scratched off easily
- No sweat design
- BPA-free
- They fit standard-sized cupholders
- 5-year limited warranty
Why Choose Orca Tumblers?
Orca cups are more expensive than RTIC tumblers, but they are also higher quality.
Their insulation technology is great, and their designs look really nice too. The brand offers excellent customer service as well.
The grips on Orca’s handles make them easy to hold while traveling in your car or truck (they sit firmly in cup holders too).
The exterior is extremely durable, and with the Duracoat, you won’t have to worry about it getting scratched or faded.
They are dishwasher-friendly, so you don’t have to worry about the hassle of hand-washing them.
Downsides:
- The Orca tumblers are more expensive than RTIC’s
- They are slightly heavier than RTIC tumblers
Verdict
If you are looking for a cheaper tumbler that still offers a great level of quality, go for the RTIC tumblers.
RTIC tumblers offer almost the same features as Orca but much cheaper.
Their tumblers are durable, and overall, they are not really far behind Orca in terms of quality.
If you want to invest more money into an extremely high-quality tumbler that offers even better insulation, go for the Orca.
They have more features, better-looking designs, better durability, and they can keep your drink cold for longer.
While they cost more, I found that they really give value for the money.
Things to Look For in a Good Tumbler
Durability
I want a tumbler that will last a long time and won’t break down after only a few uses.
There are models made from cheap plastic, and they can often crack or become damaged with normal wear and tear use.
The best travel mugs will be able to handle outdoor conditions without any problems.
So if you plan on using your tumbler when hiking or camping, it is a good idea to choose one that can stand the test of time.
Capacity and Size
You also need to consider how much water you typically drink and what size best suits your needs.
Some people prefer 20 ounces, while others like 30-ounce options better. It all comes down to personal preference.
Ease of Use
Here, I often look at things like grip, the design of the lid, and how easy it is to open and close.
I also consider the tumbler’s design since some are made with a rounded bottom while others have squared-off bottoms (the latter allows for more stability).
Ice life
I always want a tumbler that can keep drinks cold for a long period. The best models will keep your drink cool for at least several hours.
Final Thoughts
In my experience using RTIC and Orca tumblers, I have realized that it all comes down to personal preferences.
These two brands produce quality tumblers. There is not much difference between them which sometimes makes it harder for me to choose between them.
Hopefully, this guide will help you choose the tumbler that best suits your needs.
